This is a rose carved in marvelous detail using subtle color.  Overall ivory or yellow in color, there is a hint of pink in the beautiful central rose and pale green in the foliage behind the rose.  This dress pin could be used as a pendant by stringing a gold or silver chain through the clip.  Or it can be worn as a clip on a dress, sweater, top or jacket.  Celluloid was used in the 1920's when plastics were beginning to emerge as a material for jewelry but was later replaced by other less flamable forms of plastics such as bakelite.  The clip measures 2" long by 1 1/2" wide.
