Edwardian Gold Filled Lion Bangle
This is a spectacular example of early 20th Century jewelry. This ferocious lion has original
ruby rhinestone eyes and clear rhinestone in the mouth. Her head sets on gold-filled filigree openwork that is mounted
on a hollow gold filled 5/8" wide bangle bracelet. The bangle opens up by way of a small push-button revealing two prongs
that expand to fit over the hand. The prongs are stamped with the words "S & BL Co. PAT Sept 12, 1911", a company
that was in business during that time in Providence, RI. The bracelet has been restored with an additional gold plating
due to wear on the filigree front and the clear rhinestone is also a replacement of the missing original stone. The
opening measures 2 1/2" in diameter but expands to fit any wrist.
