Victorian Garnet and Silver Insect Pin
A lovely antique fly pin from Art Nouveau time period circa 1890's, this sweet pin is
made of silver with a genuine garnet cabachon (cab) and pearl body, garnet eyes and two seed pearls in the wings. The
larger cab is in an open prong setting while the smaller body cab is channel set. The garnet body has some scratches on the
surface and tiny chips near the left edge of the stone. The smaller body cab has been replaced with a genuine cultured
pearl. Two garnet cabachons are channel set for the eyes. The back shows a C clasp and tube hinge indicative of
the time period. This petit piece measures 1" long and 1 1/8" wide.
