Edwardian Enameled Pin
This pin, though small in size, is a mighty piece of complex enamelwork from the Edwardian
Age. The top is a fascinating network of color and intertwining brass filigree inlaid with regal blues, reds and violet
cloisonné enameling. There is some loss of enameling though with it's complicated design, the losses do not
spoil the overall beauty of the piece. The back has a tube hinge and an early version of the safety clasp that date
the piece to the late 19th to early 20th century, approximately 1895-1910. The entire piece is made of a sturdy brass
that is thick enough to resist bending and the pin is also quite strong with no signs of kinks from use. It measures 2"
wide by 11/16" tall.
