Accessories - Crocheted Gimp Purse with Peacock Handles - SOLD!
A fantastic find is this black crocheted handbag called a gimp purse. Back in the late
1930s to the early 1940s, bags like these were very popular. This one has a tight crocheted body with an inner fabric
lining, both in excellent condition. But the most wonderful aspect of this purse is the great Art Nouveau rivival design
of two peacocks on either side of the black plastic handles. The handles are hinged together so the purse is identical
on both sides. The purse is in excellent condition with no rips, or damage to the handles or fabric. It is a good
size too at 7" tall by nearly 10" wide at it's widest point not including the handles. Large enough for your
wallet, keys, etc. SORRY. THIS ITEM HAS ALREADY BEEN SOLD!
