Silver Aztec Bracelet from Peru
Unique sterling bangle bracelet
features three raised and rounded figures surmounted to a scalloped edged bangle. The central figure is an Aztec stylized
bird in flight flanked by two warriors. One warrior resembles a king and the other a man in a bird mask. Both
warriors are advancing toward the central figure with weapons in hand. The scalloped edges have decorative stamping
as do the remaining edges. Inside the bangle are the words “Industria Peruana” and “925 JCHM”
denoting that the bracelet comes from Peru and is made of sterling silver by an artist with the initials JCHM. This
bracelet came from an estate featuring many pieces from the 1930s and is likely circa the 30's to 40s period. An unusual
find, the bracelet is in excellent condition and is comfortable to wear. It measures 1 1/8” wide at its widest
point with an oval opening of 2 3/8”.
